THE GREAT DAY OF HIS WRATH
2 channel video installation, monitors, mirrors, plinths
160 x 45,5 x 142 cm Edition no. 2/2 + 1 AP This work shows deep sea footage at 3600 metres below sea level. Neudecker has overlaid this film with the sound of a helicopter as a cinematic device to draw you into the immersive environment of the deep sea.
Neudecker has deliberately forced a restricted view of the work as a reminder of the remote connection we have with this part of the planet. This film footage is taken by scientists using cameras mounted to a ROV (remotely operated vehicle) to retrieve images and material from the deep sea.
