Horizontal Vertical (1 of 5)
5 channel video installation
All of this deep sea work has been developed with Oxford University Marine Biologist, Dr. Alex Rogers. Neudecker was given over 16TB’s of film on a hard-drive, which took weeks to sift through to select the visual clips, each of which reveal human residue on the seabed some 3000 meters below.
Neudecker has overlaid this with a new sound layer including heartbeats, cars outside (heard from inside) and a clocks ticking, sounds she was hearing while editing hours of material, once again a reminder of the human realm above.
